I celebrate happiness wherever I see it because I know it is the right action of God in every situation. As I embrace this understanding, I come to see life as God sees it and so am led to live my life in ways that are ever more creative of happiness in me.
I reject entirely the old and discredited idea that pain and misery are right for anyone, for any reason. Wherever I see such unhappiness, I know instantly that it is not God’s intent or purpose. I take no joy or satisfaction in it. It is never right, and it never makes anything better.
I am entirely committed to a greater idea of God, of life, of myself and of all other people than the traditional ideas of virtue-through-suffering permit. I know that God is eternal happiness, that all life is for God’s happiness to be expressed and that my life and the life of every other being is sacred to this purpose.
I rejoice in happiness wherever I see it, knowing it can only make the worst good and the best even better. I am grateful to be able to see this truth so clearly, and I let it be so.
